9th Annual Conference of SAAE-India 2026
Advancing the 3Rs through science and policy
The previous conferences were conducted successfully by SAAE-India at various organizations — CSIR-Hyderabad, AMU-Aligarh, University of Kerala-Trivandrum, DPSRU-New Delhi, G.N. Khalsa College-Mumbai, and Jamia Hamdard University-New Delhi. The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, CT University is now proud to host the 9th Annual Conference, envisioned as a dynamic platform dedicated to strengthening Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement — by fostering ethical, scientifically robust, human-relevant alternatives to traditional animal-based research.
Centered on innovation and responsibility, the conference will highlight the rapid evolution of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), including in vitro systems, organ-on-chip technologies, computational modeling, artificial intelligence, and other digital innovations reshaping biomedical research, toxicology, pharmacology, and life science education.
The event brings together researchers, academicians, industry leaders, educators, regulators, and policymakers for dialogue on scientific validation, regulatory acceptance, and practical implementation of non-animal models — with a focus on capacity building, skill development, and policy alignment.
What to expect
- Focused on 3Rs — Replacement, Reduction, Refinement in animal research.
- Cutting-edge technologies — NAMs, organ-on-chip, AI, in silico models, organoids, and human-centric toxicology.
- Prestigious expert network — speakers from ICMR, DBT, NIPER, AIIMS, CSIR, Harvard, and TU Berlin.
- Ethical & technology-driven — promoting human-relevant, technology-driven biomedical research.
- Global sessions — international keynote lectures, oral/poster presentations, and policy panels.

Honouring a pioneer in non-animal methods
Who was Dr. Dipti M. Kapoor?
She was the Science Policy Advisor of PETA-India and passed away at a young age, leaving a void in the field of non-animal methods in India. To recognize her contribution to Alternatives, SAAE-India has instituted this award, presented at the 9th Annual Conference (26–28 November 2026) at CT University.
Eligibility
- Indian citizen, 45 years or below (as on 31 October 2026)
- Work conducted in India
- Early-career researchers in non-animal methods / alternatives / 3Rs / NAMs
- Preference for research using non-animal-derived components
Award & how to apply
Cash prize of INR 10,000, a citation, registration-fee waiver, and free accommodation. The awardee must attend the full conference. Applications go as an email attachment to the General Secretary at saae.india@gmail.com, on or before 18 September 2026, including a 500-word motivation letter, CV, photograph, and a 250–300 word abstract.
